We all enjoy watching our favourite soap and immersing ourselves in the lives of the various communities. Through the telly we have come to know the characters like family. www.mouseprice.com was one of the first websites to allow nosey neighbours to find out how much the Jones' paid for their place. Now www.mouseprice.com has gone a step further and has revealed the likely worth of the houses in your most favourite soaps! As a bit of fun, www.mouseprice.com, an online service that provides the actual price paid for all houses, has compiled the following information about our most loved soaps...Coronation Street You might love Corrie , but did you know that the rooftops that you see in the credits are some of the cheapest in Britain? House prices on Laburnum Street in the Langworthy Estate, which is where the soap is located, are dramatically below the UK average property price. A three bedroom terrace house, costs around ?17,000, and the average price since 2000 for properties in this area is around ?7,000.

Even though it appears as though this area is warm community, the majority of homes are boarded up and awaiting demolition!EastendersIn the war of the soaps Eastenders and Albert Square come out on top - in terms of property prices at least! Albert Square or our proxy, Tredegar Square - E3, is one of the nicer parts of East London . As would be expected in London, property here is not cheap. For ?845,000 one can own a 5 bedroom terrace. If you want to become a true Eastender you'll need a bit of dosh!EmmerdaleThose living in this little village in rural Yorkshire have experienced a 96% increase in the value of their property since 2000. A three bedroom semi-detached home on Emmerdale Main St.

aka Esholt Lane is now worth approximately ?130,000. A handsome sum, but then again the delights of the Woolpack are just down the road.BrooksideBrookie fans will know that the first episode was shown on the 2nd November 1982 and instead of filming in a studio six real houses were brought. Brookside Close, aka Coachman's Drive - L12 is a nice area despite the many controversial issues raised by the show, e.g. Drug Abuse, Domestic Violence,Bulimia and Religious cults etc.... Here one can enjoy a three bedroom semi for ?190,000.

The area is not too far from various shops, restaurants and even a nightclub. HollyoaksFinally we have Hollyoaks - aka Bouverie Street - CH1 . This area has seen large growth over the past 5 years, close to a 78% increase. Here one can find a three bedroom terrace house going for ?170,000. Depending on your view point, the proximity to Hollyoaks Community College may be a positive or negative feature. For the full table of Soap Opera house prices please visit: http://www.mouseprice.com/Articles/soap_house_prices.aspxKristin GarlandPR Managerwww.mouseprice.com"find the actual price paid for every house sold".

What's an item that can help you organize every room in your home, helps create the appearance that you're a tidy housekeeper (even if you're not), and perks up your decorating scheme?Need another hint?It comes in all shapes, sizes, colors and materials and can be found in many local retail stores, including craft stores and discount retailers, and at flea markets and craft shows and well basically it's a universal item found all over the world. You probably have one right now in your home. It's a basket! So the next time someone gives you one filled with anything from sweets to colognes, don't discard it once you've used what's in it. Once the items are gone, the basket's job has only just begun. Read onward to find out how to use this wonderful item in every room in your house. For instance, in the kitchen, you can use hanging wall pocket baskets, which have flat backs, to store dry sponges and scrubbers as well as pot holders, oven mitts, dry dish rags and spare kitchen hand towels. And in your family room or den, you might use a deep, round or cylindrical shaped basket on the coffee table to hold television or other electronic remotes.

A basket made of rags will slide without scratching (or put a doily underneath). (Imagine never losing the television remote again because you have an assigned place to put it in full view--that blends in with your home decor.)And in the bedroom, a wicker hamper with a lid in the closet can store extra pillows and keep them dust-free. If you see openings in the wicker slats or don't like your linens snagging on the inside of the basket, line the hamper with a sheet or large gallon trash bag.The ideas for using these globally designed and sold products that have been around for decades are infinite. And probably no product is so practical and useful as well as beautiful. (And modestly priced too!) Baskets are handmade works of art that are functional.

Imagine serving drinks on that glorious one-of-a-kind painting you have hanging on the wall. Not! But with baskets you can literally put your most unique artwork into daily usage and daily view.Baskets come in many sizes, shapes and materials such as willow, rattan, bamboo, rope, palm leaf, wire and rags. And many are adorned with metal garnishes, dried coco flowers, gugo vine handles and more. It's that variety of qualities that make baskets so easy to organize AND decorate with simultaneously. And you don't have to take a basket as it comes. Dress up any of your baskets by gluing on your own garnishments.

For example, craft stores sell all types of trinkets you can glue on your baskets. Be creative. Try personalizing your baskets with anything from buttons to plastic candy canes to miniature toy figures or mini cloth stockings. You could also buy miniature toys and figurines from typical large discount retailers or smaller dollar stores. (What fun to do by yourself or with your children).

And when you're done, you can still put that basket to work in an organizational function in your home---only it will have twice the value to you (the purchase price plus the priceless sentimental value).(c) 2004 Karen Fritscher-Porter.

Bar stools serve their purpose in commercial bars, restaurants and game rooms, as well as kitchens and home bars. They are often referred to as counter stools and more households are adding them to the d?cor every day.

Bar stools come in various styles, shapes, materials, sizes, fabrics and prices. Before purchasing a bar stool, it is important to know exactly why is it required, where is it going to be kept, who is going to use it most often, how often it will be used and what is the budget. If the answers to these questions are clear, then the selection of the right bar stool becomes very easy.

First decide if the bar stool is meant for the kitchen, outdoors, bar or game room, then can decide how many are needed and of what durability.

When buying bar stools for outdoors, avoid the wooded variety, since they won't last when exposed to the elements. The size and comfort can be decided when it is known who is going to use them and where are they going to be placed.

If children are going to use them in the kitchen, a convenient seat height with backrest can be considered. Generally bar stools are available at from 24" to 30" seat height. But if the counter top is much higher, then the stools might have to be custom made to be able to sit comfortably.

The size of the counter or bar top needs to be taken into account even when going in for a bar stool with arms. Ensure that the arms are at a height where they can easily slide under the counter. Basically the gap between the seat of the barstool and the counter top should be between 10-13 inches.

Nowadays barstools are available in various furniture styles and colors. Many have matching chair and dining sets to go with them. If the barstools are going to be exposed to lot of food and beverages, then it is better to go in for a barstool with no solid seats or a very durable fabric such as leather, vinyl or micro fiber.

The style can be selected from swivel barstool or stationary one, with a back or backless seat, having arms or armless. Any of these styles could be available in metal or wood. Wood stools will have a warm feel to them while on the other hand metal ones are stark, contemporary and more durable. The designs could be selected from catalogues. And if the budget allows, one could have them especially designed for the specific needs and comfort.

They could be ordered at the furniture outlet stores in your town or from the various stores listed on the Internet. It is always better to check the credentials of the supplier before placing the order, so that you are assured of good quality stuff. Once you have this wonderful piece of furniture with you, follow the cleaning instructions to maintain it beautifully..

You can transform a bedroom closet design quickly, easily, and inexpensively by installing a modular closet system. There are many competing storage systems and products, so take a look at several systems before deciding.

There are two main types of do-it-yourself systems; those made of ventilation coated-wire components, and those made of solid particleboard components with a high pressure-plastic laminate.

Mixing solid-wood components with wire shelves and rod makes sense some cases, for instance?there are some items they want to look at and other they would like to store.
If you plan a system carefully, you can double the amount of storage area available.

It's a good idea to have a few hooks but not too many or your closet will look messy.

Slide-out drawers may not be worth the cost; simple and cheap shelving usually work just as well.

In addition to the usual bedroom closet design, think about under-the-bed storage, as well as under the eaves if you have attic space. But also think about smaller pieces like file cabinets, and freestanding storage.

A combination of drawers and cupboards, and open shelves with doors offers the most flexibility. In most cases the easiest way to plan is to start with a shelf or drawer unit somewhere in the middle. It often helps to divide a large closet in half or in thirds to make it easier to find things.

Before you go, make sure you check the yard sale listings in the newspaper to make sure you don't make any unnecessary trips. When buying baby furniture, make sure it meets current safety standards. Yard sales often have many used cribs, rocking chairs, and other baby needs that will save you over 50%!Research before making any purchasesInvest in a What to Expect When You're Expecting book when you are pregnant.

Copyright 2006 Mary Desaulniers

My friend, Gail, has been a restless sleeper since childhood. "It's rare that I get a goodnight's sleep," she confided in me several years ago. Her weight has been a problem as well, spiraling upwards of 60 lbs within the past 20 years. Like most of us, her exercise and diet plans begin with enthusiasm but fizzle out within the first month. "Just too tired to keep them going" is her excuse.

It wasn't until her doctor referred her to the Sleep Specialist that things began to change. Within 6 months, she lost 25 lbs. She began exercising and now she feels much more optimistic about her future. "I'll get down to where I want to be," she said. "But the great thing is I can sleep like a baby at night."

Gail's situation points to a distinct connection between sleep and weight.

Recently, sleep deprivation has been identified as one of the major problems of our internet culture. Not coincidentally, obesity (despite the many diets that are around) is at its highest level. The connection between sleep deprivation and weight gain is no longer in the realm of conjecture. Several studies show a direct correlation between sleep and weight.

Research shows that sleep directly affects hunger. At the New York Obesity Research Center of St.

Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, scientists have identified a direct correlation between the amount of sleep you get and your body's secretion of hormones related to satiation and hunger. Leptin is the hormone that is released when your body feels satiated and full. It's the hormone that makes you push your plate away from you at the dinner table. Ghrelin is the hormone that is secreted when your body needs nourishment; it's the hormone that makes you say "Feed me! I want more!" While leptin suppresses appetite, ghrelin stimulates it. Lack of sleep decreases the body's production of leptin by 18% and increases the body's production of ghrelin by 15%.

In essence, sleep deprivation puts the body in starvation mode, stimulating the cells to ask for more food.

The result is you eat more. Does feeling hungry at 3 am sound familiar?

How then can you enlist sleep to be one of your weight loss allies?

First of all, make sure that you are on a healthy eating plan. Having the best sleep every night and the worst diet in the world at the same time will not make you lose weight. Make sure that your daily food intake includes 25-30% protein, 45-55% complex carbohydrates, 15-20% essential fatty acids.

Secondly, make sure you are on an effective exercise program 4-5 times a week. The best workout includes both weight training and aerobics.

Exercise PLUS protein is the most effective way to sculpt your body.

Now?we can talk sleep. Just having enough sleep will not make you lose weight, but it will surely help you stick to your weight loss plans. Here are some suggestions for enhancing your sleep experience.

1.Limit your consumption of alcohol and caffeine especially in the evening. Alcohol will give you unnecessary calories; so eliminating it entirely while you are trying to lose weight might not be a bad idea. Caffeine (especially from green tea) taken during the day can enhance your metabolism and burn fat.

But caffeine in the evening can bring about a restless night.

2.Develop a personal sense of sleep hygiene. This means cultivating a regular wake and sleep schedule so that you can program your body to a routine. Find a sleep ritual that works best for you. For me, it's reading in bed. For Gail, it's listening to a sleep enhancing CD.

Find a ritual that helps your body understand that you are ready for sleep.

3.Don't go to bed hungry. While this does not mean that you should have a heavy snack at bedtime, it does suggest that a light snack, rich in sleep-inducing amino acid tryptophan, can help. Warm low-fat milk is best. You can add a few( no more than 2-3) lean slices of lean turkey( also rich in tryptophan) if you wish.

4.Exercise at least 3 hours before bedtime. Physical activity contributes to the body's need for sleep.

But exercising too close to bedtime can actually prevent sleep because exercise raises the body's metabolism and alertness level.

5.Take a warm bath an hour before bedtime. Your body temperature will slowly drop after you get out of the tub making you feel tired.

6.Create a Bed Sanctuary. If you want to sleep well, make your bedroom sleep- conducive. Get the best mattress you can afford, the most comfortable pillows, the best blackout shades. Keep your bedroom cool and dark.

Eliminate noise by using earplugs.

7.Eliminate distractions like a humming TV, computer or phone.

8.Keep your days active. Resist the temptation of nap so that your body will be ready for a restful sleep at night.

The home fragrance market is booming. From perfume, toiletries, and cosmetics to pre packaged foods. It is currently a multi billion dollar industry that continues to show strong growth. The strongest growth has taken place in the last 5 years and is expected to continue through 2007 and beyond. Western Europe, Japan, and the US continue to lead with 65 percent of demand and over three-quarters of world wide production of home fragrance products.

Rapid growth of home fragrance sales has also been registered in Asia/Pacific, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.Market researchers attribute the growing trend of home fragrance popularity in the US to the fact that we are spending more time at home. We are using home fragrances to UN-stress ourselves and make our indoor environment a healthier and more pleasing place to be. And we like it, it makes us feel good. Consumer research is quite convincing. People feel better about themselves and are more comfortable at home when a home fragrance delivery system in use.Market researchers also point out that consumers are eagerly embracing home fragrance products that neutralize odors and bacteria in our indoor air, not just cover them up.

A stylish home fragrance delivery system which can be displayed as decor in the home or work place. Consumers desire an attractive as well as efficient home fragrance delivery system. There are many home fragrance delivery systems available to us today. From the plug-ins, solids, and sprays, to name a few, which temporarily mask or cover up odors and are readily available in the local supermarket. To the stylish and very much in vogue Fragrance Lamps which you won't find in the local supermarket. Fragrance Lamps can be found in specialty gift and decor shops, and on line.

One such Fragrance Lamp is the La Tee Da collection of fragrance lamps. http://www.coronetgiftsolutions.com/la-tee-da_effusion_lamps.asp La Tee Da is leading the way in home fragrance effusion lamp technology. La Tee Da's exclusive scalloped burner design enhances the home fragrance experience. La Tee Da fragrance lamps or effusion lamps as they are sometimes called are made of hand blown art glass. These fragrance lamps come in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.

La Tee Da fragrance lamps befit any decor, home or work place. Sonia Perez of Coronet Gift Solutions http://www.coronetgiftsolutions.com in Florida says her retail customers are becoming creative in their approach to home fragrance. "They like to have different fragrances for each room of their houses. Say, Verbena in the bedroom and Sandalwood Mahogany in the living room or den." Some of her customers fragrance 3 or 4 rooms, each with a different fragrance. Sonia recommends fragrance lamps because of their style and their ability to sanitize the air while they fragrance it.

"Fragrance lamps are great! And collectable too." She also supplies interior designers who love using fragrance lamps as a decor embellishment. "The La Tee Da lamps work well as an attractive accent piece to the design scheme and at the same time fragrance and sanitize the room or entire house, and their clients adore them" .Pure indoor air has become a priority with consumers says Sonia. "Women want more than just pretty air.

I learnt something as I unpacked my bags recently. I'd just returned from a 3-day trip to regional towns around New Zealand. I pulled out some items I needed immediately and then caught myself thinking, 'I'll finish unpacking later.'

'No you won't. You'll do it now!' said the little voice on my shoulder.

With a brief flutter of resistance my procrastinating self crept back into her hole. Within five minutes the job was done, the room was tidy, and I knew I could come back into the room later without that awful sinking feeling of 'Darn it, I've still got to put all this stuff away!'

I noticed something else.

It's easier to shift a moving object than a stationary one, it generates higher energy, and it's less time-consuming. It's when we have to go back to something that we end up in a muddle, it slows us down, procrastination becomes a familiar companion, and tidiness becomes a hard and challenging chore.

The hardest part is the decision to act. Next time, as you stand there being tempted to head down the grey tunnel of 'slob-itis', try one of the following strategies:

See yourself coming back into this pristine space with nothing shouting 'You've still got to put me away.'

Hear the congratulations of your dearly beloveds (or surprised work colleagues if it's a work situation).

Feel your delight and joy as you connect with the freedom of no clutter.

Think back to the last time you did put things away quickly.

Remember your thoughts and feelings, the mental pictures and the sounds attached to that positive memory. Build them big in your memory and let the positive energy attached to that memory impel you forward into action NOW.

Reward yourself. It might be as small as five minutes to sit and look at the view, take a walk outside, sit down with a relaxing book or magazine, talk on the phone to your best friend, have that chocolate you've hidden from yourself - whatever turns you on.

Next time, when you:

Complete a task at work - put away tools and paperwork

Return from a trip - unpack everything immediately.

Get out of bed - make it.

Dress or undress - hang things up and put the dirty washing in the basket (or ready to go out the door next time you leave your bedroom).

Eat something - clean up after yourself.

Arrive home with used sports gear - clean and store it ready for next time.

Finish a task in the garage, workshop or garden - clean down and put away the tools.

Come in from work or town with a bundle of items - groceries, post, accounts to pay, magazines to put away - whatever miscellany you typically bring home - put them straight away.

Last thoughts:

What's clutter? Just something in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Every piece of paper or equipment lying around is a symptom of a decision not made or an action not completed.

Space and clutter strugglers just stop too soon - the job's not done until it's all put away.

Just shift the finish line.

Why make it hard when it could be easy - all for the sake of another two or three minutes?

Capitalise on your existing momentum. Do it now!

Remember, it's faster (and a lot easier) to shift a moving object than a stationery one

How many of us wake up in the morning feeling refreshed, happy and full of energy? How many of us, after a few hours in the office, still feel full of energy? Why certain environments uplift our spirits and make us breathe deeper, while others drain our energy? We seem to have forgotten how deeply connected we are with the space we live in and how important is for our well being to live in a balanced environment. As our lives are certainly not getting easier, the need to create a healthy and vibrant home environment cannot be overestimated. We have to have a safe, peaceful and energetically balanced space where our bodies can let down the daylong protective shield and focus on regenerating and self-healing.Feng Shui is an ancient art and science that has been used for over 5,000 years to heal, balance and enrich peoples lives. It is a very complex body of knowledge that reveals how humans are connected to their environment and shows numerous ways to change specific aspects of ones life by changing the living or working space. Being aware of this deep connection and its influence on all aspects of your life, it would be wise to employ feng shui knowledge in your home (and business!) to improve your health, vitality, and general well-being. One of the main theories of Feng Shui is the theory of Five Elements, which are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.

The elements are the five manifestations of Chi, or universal energy, and are represented in your environment by colors, shapes, textures, smells, taste, etc. They interact with each other in certain ways, the basic cycles being Constructive (where each element supports the other) or Destructive (where one element destroys the other). Understanding this theory and its applications in your life can be a very powerful tool indeed. In order to experience high vitality levels and an increased level of well-being, feng shui masters recommend living in a place that supports and nourishes your birth element. Each of us has a predominant element, which is calculated by the year of birth. (You can find out your own element from specific tables in many feng shui books or by visiting our website) Once you know your own element, look around your place and see which element is predominant in it.

Yes, any specific environment also has its own predominant element. For example, if your living room has purple curtains, art with predominant red-orange colors, lots of candles, a fireplace, objects in triangular, pointed shapes etc; the energy in the room is predominantly Fire. If your birth element is Wood, and you live in a Fire environment you will tend to experience headaches, inability to relax, have constant arguments with you family, often feel burnt out. As Fire burns the Wood, you need to focus on reducing the element of Fire in your environment, thus improve your well being. To remedy this situation, you may want to bring some of your own element (Wood) and/or the element of Water (which puts down the Fire.)Wood element can be brought into your environment by colors brown and green, plants (green bamboo is especially powerful!) objects in rectangular shapes, actual wooden objects and other. Water can be represented by actual water (a fountain) or images of water oceans, lakes, rivers; as well as mirrors, wavy and curved shapes, colors black or deep blue, etc.

The scenario described above will also be true for a person whose birth element is Metal, as Fire melts the Metal. However, an Earth or Water person will feel very good in that environment, and you can easily guess why. Both of these elements are not overpowered by the Fire energy. An old Chinese proverb states that feng shui consultants double as doctors. And for a good reason.

The art and science of Feng Shui has a wealth of recommendations, cures, solutions for every person and virtually every space, be it home, business, garden, etc. Just like your body has a specific anatomy, the space you inhabit also has its own anatomy, with its own dos and donts. Specific areas of your life, as well as specific body organs relate to specific areas of your home. For example, East is the area responsible for Family and Health. The element of East is Wood; therefore it is wise to avoid the placement of objects representing either Fire or Metal in this area of your home/business. If you suffer from certain body ailments, you can choose to place in the East area a picture, or any other representation of a medicine plant particularly healing for you (for example dandelion for liver problems) Here are some feng shui remedies to improve your Health and increase Vitality:

Keep the center of your House clean, clutter free and open.

This is considered the Heart of the House and is a sacred area in many old cultures. No heavy objects should be placed here. The center of your space is a very good place for a fountain, some crystals, bells/chimes with a harmonious sound, happy pictures of your loved ones, or any other items that speak to your heart.
Reduce or eliminate metal objects from your Bedroom, as metal conducts electricity. Work on reducing the electromagnetic fields in your bedroom. Provide an ideal space for your body to regenerate, replenish and heal itself during sleep.

Do not sleep under beams or sloped ceiling. Do not sleep with your feet in line with the door. Have a good, supportive headboard. Choose a natural mattress.
Become aware of the quality of air in your space. Aerate your home often and use essential oils like lavender, chamomile, sage, frankincense, bergamot, etc to purify the space, uplift the spirits and improve your sense of well being.

Consider using an air ionizer should this be necessary. Have specific plants that purify the air, such as peace lily, boston fern, spider plant, etc. Color green is very healing.
Have a pleasing welcoming entrance. It should be well lit, spacious and have uplifting energy. If you face a wall or stairs, apply specific feng shui cures or your life could be stuck in unnecessary struggles.
Surround yourself with objects you love and people that uplift your spirits.

Try to spend some time in nature at least once a day. Make your home a healing refuge from the stress you encounter during the day by applying various feng shui cures and reducing the internal pollutants present in most homes.
By following these simple, basic feng shui recommendations you can greatly improve your sense of well being.
